Mix1 is an all-natural protein drink that uses whey protein isolate rather than regular whey protein in their ingredients. Whey protein isolate is a superior protein and is just one reason this stuff caught my eye.
I tried my first one a while ago and was surprised at how good it was. Hm, I guess I should get on to the full review before blowing the ending.
On paper, Mix1 looks awesome. Loaded with natural ingredients such as filtered water, organic cane sugar (much better than that fructose crap), juice concentrates and so forth, you can’t go wrong. A good mix of vitamins and minerals have also been added to round out this shake as a healthy beverage to have.
Taste - They’ve got plenty of options for you to try. Berry, Tangerine, Blueberry-vanilla, Lime, Mango, Acai Pomegranate, and Orange Twist. Surely there’s at least a few that cater to everyone’s taste buds. I’m a fan of the Tangerine and the Blueberry Vanilla myself. They taste good. I’ve had vanilla protein shakes from other sources before and wanted to vomit. Mix1 has a good taste, not overwhelmingly sweet, not medicine-like…some taste like smoothies actually.
Consistency - You never know what you’re going to get with a protein drink. Chalky? Too thick? Clumpy? Mix1 has a consistency that I appreciate. Easy to drink down and I didn’t feel a need to chug a glass of water afterwards to get the coating out of my mouth that you get with some protein shakes. This is always a plus after a good event and you need some nutrition in our body stat.
Healthy numbers - One bottle of Mix1 (11 fluid ounces) has 200 calories, 29g carbs, 15g protein, and 0g fat. Those are numbers worthy of pre-workout, post-workout, a quick snack/meal replacement, and something I would easily drink up during a long endurance event (like when I’ll be riding my bike from San Francisco to LA this June). That’s a good bit of protein to make sure my muscles don’t break down after a good workout. Whew!
Final opinion - Love this stuff. Love the fact they’re packed with nutrition and are perfect for when I may need a quick snack or when I need to jam some protein into my muscles after a workout. I’ll certainly be keeping a few of these at my desk for whenever I may need them. On a side note, I also like how active they are in various races and events around the country.
Recommendation - Get it.
